Assessing Causes and Impacts of Traffic Congestion in Khartoum, Sudan

This paper discusses a serious problem of traffic congestion in Khartoum order to identify its causes and impacts on society economy. The literature relating the were intensively reviewed. research methodology have been adopted includes questionnaire, interviews site visits. data collected statistically analyzed. results indicated that contributing insufficient road capacity, lack public transport parking problems. It was found has adverse effects such as time consuming, decrease productivity fuel consumption. Finally, some major measures provided reduce by expansion roads, managing adopting Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system.
